  • Power adjust rims
  • I have a Ford 641 with power adjust rims which I'd like to replace with standard 28" rims and hope there is another member who would like to trade. My wheels are in great condition with 12.4 AG in good condition 75% this includes the wheel spacers. I'm located in the far NW UP of Mi. I can send photos on request

  • Wish you were closer, Tom. I would take you up on your offer.

Curious as to why you wish to convert to 6 loop rims if your PA rims are good?

  • Well Dean I wish you were closer too, I see plates from all over the country up here so maybe you need a vacation !:) The reason I'd like to swap rims is that we live in a high snowfall area (350" this year) and my snow removal is the front blade on the 641 with chains and pie weights and the weight's add extra width to the rear wheels. Also have a 703 loader going on the tractor so will be building snow piles from now on. I really have no use for the PA rims, would have posted pic's but have never been successful with photobucket.

  • Thanks for your prompt reply, Tom.

You do know that you can remove the wheel spacers to narrow the overall width for door clearance, etc??? Just need to be aware that the PA rims cannot be adjusted fully inward without the spacers.

I have a very good friend near Jackson, MI that I plan to visit soon. Sadly, I have neither truck nor trailer so will be driving my car.

  • Re: Power adjust rims
  • Thanks Dean, never having used the rims I wasn't sure the weights would fit inside the rims, if no interest in swapping I may need to try adjusting then take another look. Jackson, Mi. would be a 10+ hour nonstop drive to my area.

  • Re: Power adjust rims
  • All versions of pie weights can be used with early Ford PA rims but some heavy versions will interfere with the rails if one attempts to adjust the rims outward.

Heavy (45 Lb./segment) so called AG style weights can be used with PA rims only if the rims are adjusted mostly inward. This should not be an issue if the wheel spacers are installed.

Light (30 Lb./segment) so called AG weights do not interfere with PA rims regardless of wheel spacing.

The later design, so-called "industrial" weights (light or heavy) do not interfere with PA rims.

  • Yours will work with Ford PA rims without interference.

  • Thanks Dean for your thoughts, I've since adjusted the PA rims and removed the spacers but still interested in a trade.
