The 9N after s/n 12500 in 1940 and all 2Ns were basically the same with a few minor changes made over the years so year is unimportant and a moot point. Example: In 1944 the I-Beam radius rods were changed to the oval tube type. One can look up the changes in the MPC's but all electrical systems were the same: 6V/POS GRN, front mount dist, 1-wire gen with cutout, and 1-wire starter motor. Steering changed some but new parts aren't made anyway. Unless one is planning on a correct full all-original restoration, serial numbers mean relatively nothing. Also, the relatively few 2Ns that were made as steel-wheel/magneto warhorse models would also be an exception. I myself often refer to a 2N as a 9N as well. te6y really are the same. Just saying...
