9 N
I have a non running 9n, serial #139755 for sale. I estimate that it has been 15 years since it has ran. It has been stored inside, sheet metal is in good shape. I have a set of new rear tires that are not on but will go with. It was my grandfathers and the I have heard two stories. He either lost a bet or someone played a joke on him and the tractor is painted John Deere green(I am 57 and it has been that color as long as can remember). I am open to any offers, would like to see it go to someone that will restore it. I can send photos if interested.

Re: 9 N
I see that a lot, 2Ns misidentified as 9Ns. The easiest way to identify a 2N versus a 9N is to see if there are access holes in the doglegs for the grille bolts. If there are holes, then it's a 2N, if not, it's a 9N. Now, if the radius arms are oval it would be a later 2N, but if it has I-beam shaped arms, it's either a 9N or an early 2N. That is what throws off more people, as a lot of early 2Ns made before the middle of 1944, gets identified as a 9N because of the I-beam shaped arms.
