  • Ford used FMD to designate the Fordson Major Diesel model of tractor. I don't know if seeing it on implements means that the implement was designed for an FMD tractor or not. I do know that you can find the FMD assigned to more than bottom plows There's an FMD 110-245 3-disc plow, an FMD 19-101 Industrial Loader and various adaptors for FMD conversion for back blades, mixers and accessories like seats.

  • Ed-
Ford Major Diesel makes more sense than 'front mounted'. I was looking through my MPCs and found some later (58-59)implements that had FMD and they were all front mounted cultivators. It did not make sense to me that a plow would be front mounted. Still can't understand what a Diesel has to do with a turning plow though. Is the hook-up different?
