  • Tractor jack bent arm
  • This is a Ferguson IT-TO-20 jack with a slightly bent arm...
Anyone ever heated and staightened these..

    Suggestions on how to?....

I have used it as is, but am looking to clean it up and would like to straighten it up, but still be able to use it for it's intended purpose.

  • Hello, I was wondering if I could get the dimensions for the Ford 8n tractor jack. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks ..

  • Chris,

There are plans and sketches with measurements for the tractor jack in the How To section.

  • HiYa Frank-
You might try a tube or pipe bender too. Heat will usually work harden steel, but with tubing/pipe, being so thin, you may blow a hole in it and then you're really up the creek. Once the steel is bent as it is, bending back will need to be done cautiously so as to not kink it as well.

  • Thanks Tim,,

Kinking is my big worry, that's why I was thinking heat would help. Heat is out for me now..

It got where it is cold.. Can probably get it back...

One of those projects where the time and effort to set up will far far exceed the actual repair... But winter is coming..

I love the simplicity and pure genius of that jack.

  • I would prop it up on some wood blocks and smack it with a really big hammer. Shouldn't need to heat it but that might make it easier.

  • I like your thinking Dan..

Maybe I'll bolt it between some lumber to keep it straight...
Treat it like a radius rod..
