  • Missed out on a pair of steel wheels for the 2n on craigslist. I can't post a photo now because the listing is gone. These steel wheels had standard 2n center disc but also had an 8n center piece that connected to the 2n disc so you could mount them on an 8n. Anyone know if these where a ford item or possibly homemade for amish or mennonites.

  • HiYa Kirk-
I can't answer your question positively for sure, but I do not see anything in the July, 1947 MPC, the first 8N parts catalog, that would suggest there was a special adaptor hub for an 8N. Your theory that they were a unique Amish or Farmerized design is probably more accurate. I have seen many such redneck-engineering feats before. I knew a guy locally who found a way to mount pie weights on his 2N rear wheels. I recall seeing 9Ns and 2Ns with additional attachments on the rear wheels called tip-toes. I can't remember if they were aftermarket items or Ford accessories.

  • Yea since these were out in Pa amish/mennonite country I figure that were homemade or local aftermarket.
