  • Dearborn 10-80 tailwheel spring length
  • Hello everyone, just a quick question. Does anyone know the length of the spring or any other info about the adjusting spring for the tailwheel on the 10-80 plow? Thanks for any info.

  • The Engineering drawing from Dearborn Motors for part 103138 shows a spring that is 9 1/2 long hook-to-hook. The O.D. of the coils is 1 1/4 and wire diameter is 3/16, with a total 42 1/2 coils. This was apparently sourced originally from Southern Iron & Equipment Company. This ought to get you in the ballpark.

  • I don't have my 10-80 Plow anymore but I did find some perfect replacement springs for my Dearborn 10-14 Plow Coulters made by Century Springs -see LINK below. I got the springs at my local TSC store so they may even stock the size you need...HTH

  • Just measured mine:

12" overall length (counts hooks on ends)
    10" spring length
    1-3/8" spring outer diameter
