  • Magic Paint
  • has anyone used the Magic paint from tractor supply, i used it this weekend to paint the wheels on my tug. the first coat was still tacky from 24 hours earlier. I talked to a guy who has painted many trucks and he told me to go ahead and do the second coat wait 20 minutes and spray a third. he said he has used the magic paint from TSC and it took a week before it fully cured. he said he would never use it again. i watched a few videos on youtube with people using that paint and they loved it.

  • Doug, as Tim says, the new TSC paint is junk. That said however, you can still buy the better VALSPAR tractor color paints over the I-net from many sources. Also, some local ACE hardware stores carry VALSPAR paints and can order the tractor colors if they don't normally stock them.

  • I've not used Majic brand paint, but the local TSC has put in a line of Rustoleum paint in the popular tractor brand colors. I've bought some IH red in a quart and spray can. I haven't tried it yet, but have always had good results with Rustoleum paint. FWIW. SoS.

  • Youbetcha RUSTOLEUM is definitely great paint, a brand I've been using since back in the 60's and have yet to have a problem with any of their products. I too like and prefer the IH-Farmall brighter red paint over the recommended reddish-orange Ford color.

  • I used MAJIC once back when TSC dumped VALSPAR as their paint supplier and went with MAJIC. Never again -JUNK IMHO. I bought some FORD RED and painted some parts then the next day the shade faded and turned and orange color. Just telling you if you want it last a long time invest now in the better grade of paint.

  • Can also probably said that temperature would effect drying time.
I never paint metal if it is below 75 degrees for that very reason.
Just my humble opinion, but 60 is too cold for anything large and steel.
