  • Clutch- is this normal?
  • When I push the clutch down on my 9n I have to be careful that I don't push it too far. There seems to be a sweet spot where it disengages and shifts smoothly. If I push down just a bit past that sweet spot, it reengages the transmission. One buddy suggested just adding running boards so that it doesn't go too far, but I'd like to know if this is normal or something I should fix. Thanks!

  • The left brake rod has an arm on it that goes under the clutch pedal and when adjusted properly the brake will be applied when you push the clutch pedal down and it also serves a stop so that the pedal can't be pushed too far down.

  • Your clutch is out of adjustment. It should have X inches of free travel, before the fork touches the t/o bearing. .

Check your I&T FO4 manual for the value of X; I've got CRAFT these days..........
