  • wondering when the first soft plugs on the side of the block appeared...i saw a 9n 17xx and it has them i know the early 3 digits did not have them...any clues????

  • ok since im asking things any idea when the reinforced rocker attachment appeared...i know the real early ones werent webbed the just kinda sat on the rear end

  • Are you speaking of what are commonly referred to as "freeze plugs"? I have 9n1604, and it does not have the plugs on the side of the block, just the one on the rear.

    I can't provide much insight to your question above about the top rocker connection, but it must have been very early in production.
