  • 47 2N steering box lubrication
  • I have a grease fitting at the top of my steering column. Are there any other locations that I need to be aware of to get lubricate to for the steering unit? I find various info on the internet regarding 8Ns, but nothing for a 2N (1947.

  • The steering gearbox for the 9N-2N is splash lubed from the transmission lubricant. The grease fitting at the top of the column is for the upper bearing in the column.

  • the gears in the steering box are lubed by the oil in the trans being flung up to them. 8Ns have a sealed gear box and require lube.
Check your FO-4 service manual and if you do not have one, now would be avery good time to get one.
