  • 8N steel tip-toe wheels
  • Just took in an 8N Ford with steel flip out tip-toe wheels on, does anyone have info and how rare they are?

  • Sure would like to see a picture, don't know if I have ever seen flip out steel wheels.
Only Spin out hubs on the 800 series and later...

  • Sounds that you may be referring to the sand paddles. They are very unusual if not rare as few remain intact.

  • Not sure if this is what you are looking for and can't say what the value would be -whatever someone will pay I guess. Something like these would only be used for show really. At the time they were used for extremely muddy and soft ground like rice paddies to assist when weeding them, before spray chemicals were around. Also unsure if it was R.S Horner who made them -Ford never made aftermarket stuff like this.

  • I sold a pair of those last year at a swap meet. $50 and glad they are gone.

  • I know Stumpy use to have a pair although I think that were called paddle assist. Guy on CL sold a set a couple of months ago. They do come up from time to time

  • The rims should be 2N and they should bolt on to the 8N centers.

  • 9N, 2N, and 8N rear hat rims were the same -10 x 28 but I don't see why they couldn't bolt up to any center disc.

  • Used a Ford 600 one year to help pull the corn picker through wet spots. They were 4" less diameter than the tire size. The F-20 pulling the picker, had to bump the Ford through the wet holes as it was spinning so it could final pull the F-20 through. They were used in the muck area here. Didn't think they helped in this situation. They were only about 2" spikes.
