  • My dad has what we believe is a 2n, but the hood currently on it sticks over the dash about 1.5 inches, but it fits fine otherwise. I am sure someone replaced the hood at some point but I always assumed 2, 8, 9n hoods would be the same size.

  • Yes, I will take a picture tomorrow. I am aware of the differences between 9n's,and 8n's,and Ferguson's, maybe not 2n's though. I looked and didn't see anything bent or pushed back. Thanks.

  • Have a look at the radiator mounting.

  • I may be spit ballin' here, but are you sure it is a Ford 2N and not a Ferguson TO-20? Or a 2N with a Ferguson hood? I don't think they are interchangeable, but may explain the non-fit issue. The Ford 9N and 2N had 3-speed transmissions, the Ferguson had a 4-speed.Can you post pictures? Both 9N an 8N have a 70" wheel base.

  • It might be that the top radiator hose is too short or jammed on too far.

  • The 1939 hoods on the early 9N's (steel) were slightly narrower than the later ones but length should be the same. Maybe the tractor ran into some thing that set the hood back

  • Same size. Can you post a photo of your hood?
