  • Hook up to pull ford tractors. Lost my help.
  • Well my dad's just about quit. 93 in August. Some of my 28 ford don't always start everytime. I need to move them about once a week to mow under them. Has anyone on made a thing to pull one tractor with the others. I need one that will guide the front wheels. We have one for the H. Thanks guys.

  • I seen one recently, the guy use an eleven hole drawbar and off that attached two pieces of angle iron to make a V away from the tractor. Where the point of the V met he welded a ball hitch. He added an 8n bumper with a ball and was able to tow it that way. That's how he takes multiple tractor to a show

  • Wayne,Make a lift that goes on the 3 point hitch, with a pivot bar that goes under the front axle with a U that will go up to catch the axle on each side, front side of the U taller to hit the axle front and line up the pivot bar. Then just lift enough to put up pressure to keep the pivot bar in place and move them around without having to get off the tow tractor. You won't have to lift the tractor front off the ground to move one that way, forward or backwards with tires and wheels on them.

  • Just use or make a tow bar that attaches to the front of the tractor being towed. A rigid tow bar can even be used to push the dead vehicle backwards. The towed tractor will self-steer in whatever direction it is pulled or pushed. I drag stuff around all the time with nothing more than a chain passed thru a piece of 2" pipe. A real tow bar has a coupler that drops on a hitch ball, and two arms that connect to the vehicle being towed. This works much better than just a piece of pipe, it keeps the towed vehicle centered behind the hitch.

  • I remember Marv Bauman could pull 5 of his 8N's in a train. Got a video but can't seem to get it posted. Think he just used a draw bar and a tow bar hooked on the front axle between each tractor.

  • Thanks Dan . That would be a neat video. I didnot think my fords would track that way.

  • I have the same problem. When my kids were here I had a 5' piece of light duty channel with a trailer hitch latch on each end. Using a brush guard with a trailer ball on both tractors I could pull or push a dead tractor and just point the direction that I wanted one of the kids to steer.
Nowadays, I use the Wagner loader bucket on my '52 8N and chains under the front axle
    outside of the radius rods.
I always need an implement on the rear even with loaded tires and I can't turn very sharp.

  • I can't imagine moving 28 tractors every week. Why not use roundup periodically and let them sit?

  • sell some to people who will use them for work.

  • sell them
  • 36 coupe that would be the smart thing to do. You should see all the people that stop and video and take pictures. I know the problem each tractor has and I have a problem selling them that way. Even though I bought them with the problems, some I bought for the parts then got them to run. Have a great day. Wayne
