  • Just purchased another 9N. My original one died. The engine threw a rod. The new one is older I believe. it's serial number is 9NZ21952. I just cannot find out why the Z is there????
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for the info.

  • Try and post some good hi-res pictures. Ford 2N Production, Model Year 1946, produced serial numbers from 198731 to 258503. ALL 2N tractors used the 9N prefix; there was/is no such thing as a '2N' prefixed serial number. I don't know what 'various articles' you've read about Ford N-Series Serial numbers but here you go: see link

  • if the Z is a 2 then my s/n would be N221952. That is too many numbers from what I am seeing in the various articles??? Thank you for answering.

  • If your serial number is 9N221952 that would be a 2N built in 1946.
