  • Steering box
  • On my Jubilee I checked the lub. in the steering gearbox with a wire and it was dry, so I add 90wt. gear lub. it was OK until I started to drive the tractor and when I but it back in the barn oil was running out of the top of the box. Did I just over fill the box or is there something wrong?

  • "Pearl" my 49 has "stiff" steering, so I am watching this thread...
I filled with ATF once to see IF there were leaks...
    There are!
    ATF leaks but 90W don`t <:D

  • probably some worn seals but I'm wondering if it was hot outside where you were using the tractor? When I put cornhead grease in mine, it was okay until I took the tractor out in the hot sun. After a while oil started coming out from several places and ran down onto the housing. It kept coming out for a couple days and finally it stopped. The cornhead grease didn't come out, just the old oil that was in there to start with. I'm not sure but I was thinking temperature was behind the oil coming out. I'm sure the seals are worn in mine.
