  • 1939 trans dip stick
  • I picked up a '39 #7863 this week. I know I promised I wouldn't buy any more tractor but I couldn't help myself, anyway, It has a trans dip stick on the left, kind of flat and squared off. the dip stick on the right is off my '40, more rounded.
I'm assuming the one on my '39 is a replacement? Don't want to change it out if it's original. Anybody know for sure.

  • HiYa Kirk-
I was over at the farm/shop working on a Massey-Ferguson and could have looked at my early '39 9N had I read your post earlier. I was there since about 10:00 AM EST but left at 1:00 PM EST as the humidity was getting unbearable. Plus the mosquitoes were bad. They're as big as houseflies over there as the surrounding woods around the barn is swamp. The house flies are as big as deer flies too. Despite my layers of DEEP-WOODS OFF, the sportsmen type that is almost 100% DEET, enough is enough. I'll be back over there one or two days this week so will look at mine and report back...

  • Kirk, I would say the one on the right is the original. It is exactly like the one on my '39'.

  • Thanks Del. I kind of thought that but wasn't sure. I'll see what Tim sez about his '39 and if anybody else ways in.

  • Here's another shot of the dip sticks they are both the same length and marked the same.
