  • PHOTOS from the 2017 EYESON DESIGN SHOW
  • Here are some of the photos I took at the 2017 EYESON DESIGN show held on June 18, 2017, Father's Day, at the estate of the late, great Eleanor & Edsel Ford in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan. We had all the Harold Brock years covered with the one and only 1937 Ford V8 Prototype Tractor; early 1939 9N; early 1948 8N; 1949 8N with FUNK V6 Conversion; 1950 8N with special FOURTRANS conversion; 1954 NAA; 1956 960 LPG; and a 1959 841 with ELENCO 4WD... Enjoy:

  • HiYa Dave-
Well I was hoping no one would notice it, since this was suppose to be the al-Ford line, but it is an old GIBSON model, basically a lawn and garden variety company. It is owned and restored by a fella Don Olson knows. Don is on the 'Eyes committee and put together the tractor display. Across the lot on the other side from us was a huge collection of CROSLEY vehicles -cars, trucks, tractors, and military vehicles and even a table of original Crosley radios and refrigerators.

  • Good pictures. Your 2 row cultivator brought back a lot of memories. I just wonder how many hours I spent with one just like that back in the day before weed killers. Funny think I remember is for some reason it wouldn't get the milkweeds. I'd have to go back and pull them by hand.

  • Hi Larry-.
Glad to have stirred some old memories. One major reason I like to have an implement on my tractors when I display them is to show people how things were done back in the day, before chemical weed killers, before pesticides, before massive thousand acre farms owned and operated by conglomerate corporations with fleets of machines pulling 12 row plows and such, and how the little 80 acre or less farmer did things to make a living. Here's another photo of my 8N and Dearborn 13-2 Cultivator, but not from the 'Eyes show. This was from one of our local shows a few years ago...

  • Thanks for your compliments. I did a complete story for both the N-NEWS and the FORD-FORDSON JOURNAL so look to those publications for more pictures and the whole rundown on the day. The event is a worthy charitable cause - the Henry Ford Health Systems Department of Ophthalmology, for research and development of hi-tech implants for the deaf. The NTC calendar was always done by an independent source, namely the last few years by Don Doan and his wife. Don passed away earlier this year and so the job is open to anyone who wants to pursue it. We admins here do not have any involvement with it whatsoever.
