  • Hydraulic lift aligment jig
  • Has anyone heard from Zane lately? I have been emailing him over the last couple of weeks about getting a jig, but no answer. The address I have is wzsherman@aol.com from his website. I am getting close to needing it to put my 8N back together.

  • If Zane doesn't contact you I have a jig you could bowwow. You would need to pay shipping both ways. I do not have a cam follower pin however.

  • Thank you. I may take you up on that. I have a new follower pin. I am trying to beat the old out without removing the arm that it's pressed into. I am using a deep socket with extensions to support the arm and hammering it with a pin punch. It is being stubborn, but I will keep at it until it is out.

Use a propane torch and gently heat the metal of the arm around the pin, but avoid heating the pin itself. This will expand the metal of the arm and the pin will be easier to punch out. I used a micrometer to check the OEM pin and found it to be a few thousandths of an inch smaller in diameter than the aftermarket replacement. The replacement would not force fit so I turned it down slightly on my lathe then placed the pin in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to shrink it. Slightly heat, again, the arm and you can drive the new pin in. Worked for me, hope this helps.

  • Yes. that's where I got his email address to contact him. It doesn't look like you can order from the website. I have sent a few emails over the last 2 weeks to the address and haven't received either a bad email message or a response from Zane.

  • Yep, I see that, but keep trying. He doesn't always read these forums, nor apparently, his emails. Next email mark it URGENT and it should show up in his INBOX with red flagged [!] for High Importance...

  • Thanks Tim, I will keep trying. I am getting quite a workout from beating out all of the rusted parts and scraping stuck on gaskets from 60+ years. But, it is fun for me and I am learning a lot as well...
