  • 8N value, guess
  • Just ran across a early 8N that does not run at this time. Owner says it needs a battery and carb work, ran a year ago when parked, engine turns over. Looks ugly as sin, but not all beat up. Sheet metal looks straight, tires good. He's asking $850, I think it may be worth less, seeing it's not a runner at this time. Looking for a winter project, turn it around in the spring to cover my cost. Not wanting to do another show tractor. Sorry, no photo.

What say you friends? Fair offer number?

  • From the available information, no more than $500 in my area.

  • I guess location is everything. I would gladly give 5 to 6 hundred for 4 good tires and wheels and consider the rest of the tractor as a bonus. I'm in NC in case someone wants to offer me a deal.

  • As a follow up, before I posted here, I offered $450. He did not refuse the offer, thinking about it. Battery, points, carb work, etc. add up quickly as we all know about mission creep. I'll let my offer sit for a couple days, maybe go as high as $550-600. Just thinking about a quick winter project that I could sell easily in the spring.

  • Too much money. Around here you can buy running driving N's for $800/$1000
Needs battery and carb work. Figure that's about $100/$120. You'll be at $1000 and don't know what else is wrong. Did you test the hydraulics? Clutch stuck?
In today's market you Will spend too much time and money hopefully to break even with the N. Find a later model if you want to turn a profit.
Non runners are going for less than $400 sometimes a lot less

  • Al, just my opinion, but I'd say the fellow is asking at least twice the amount it's worth (if not more) since it's not running.

  • with out seeing it does not sound that far off I would be happier in the 500 to 650 range I have bought 2ns that were straight and got running for 150.00 just my two cents
