  • RPM Wont Drop
  • After running my 2N on the road for the first time, the throttle off, will not drop the RPM. In the garage it works every time. In the garage the throttle on off works like a charm. As soon as I go down the road with it in third gear, the RPMs stay hi after stopping. Only when I turn it off does the RPM go to normal when starting again.
    Any thoughts?
    Tony

  • I took apart the governor and there is a groove on the plate. I see how it would stay stuck on high idle. Thanks for the tips.

  • Yeah. And your balls are square too! Well, at least flat.
Never thought your balls were flat, eh?

  • Ha these appear to be round but rough around the edges. I know round things don't have corners. Where can I buy just the plate and the 4 balls?

  • Like Bruce says!! LOL

Check all of the linkages going to and from gov and with it stuck high will it drop when you move the carb throttle rod by hand? maybe the throttle plate in carb is hanging up. If not that I would take the gov apart and check for a groove in the housing that the balls are hanging up in.
