  • Hi,
New to forum . I am resident in the UK. I have recently bought a Ford Ferguson 2N tractor to restore .
I am looking to replace the carburettor which is marvel schebler original. I want to put an original looking one back on her or a restored one. I have been in touch with Yesterday’s Tractors in Port Townsend but they cannot export to me .Any ideas please - can anyone help please.

    Regards
    Gethyn

  • Gethyn-
Most 9N's and 2N's sent overseas were 9NAN and 2NAN models, meaning they had the TVO/kerosene burning units on them. Can you verify that you have one? The serial number will show it. Alan's (Scotland)email bounced back so hope he sees your post. My Ferguson contact said not aware of the Ford suppliers in the UK but a few US suppliers will ship internationally.

  • Aye Tim, just browsing through posts here today and see my name mentioned..
sadly mail is playing up, I'm about to change Internet providers after a decade of being with this one, (no bloody allegiance any longer)
regarding Ford suppliers in UK, your source is correct, none..sadly.
We are limited in parts, as Gethyn will no doubt find, I used to use " Dunlop Tractor Spares" in Northern Ireland, good team and Old 20 Parts.
Most of my spares were sourced locally and a few from stateside did arrive via Farmer dan .
I did see a company advertising carburettor repairs in one of our UK vintage tractor magazines a while back, but can't remember seeing marvel listed, will have a look see tonight..
    Cheers, alan in scotland

  • There is a member her, Alan Todd from Scotland, so I sent him an email with a link to your post about locating a parts supplier. I also contacted the Ferguson club and asked them as well. You should be hearing back soon.

  • Seems like you should be able to find someone local in your area. Or on the internet in the UK.

  • What exactly is wrong with the MS carb that you have? Better to rebuild it than put a new one on it

  • Welcome aboard the NTC! We can help you get your 2N tractor back up. I have an original Marvel-Schebler TSX-33 carburetor all rebuilt and ready to mount. My email is open. We also have scans of original manuals in our MANUALS forum and you can download any one or all for free. Look at the top menu bar on the home page for all the other forums. There is also a ton of good info on John Smith's web site -see LINK below. It is highly suggested you also get an I&T F-04 manual, a 39-53 MPC (Master Parts Catalog) and some original or copies of 9N/2N manuals to help you along with. You can get a lot of new parts at Dennis Carpenter.com and Just8ns.com . Many here also stress not to throw away any original parts -most can be rebuilt like carb, distributor, water pump, generator, and more.

  • I’ve been working on old cars, trucks & tractors now for over 50 years. Whenever possible, I get OEM component parts rebuilt. Given the high probability that any new component part purchased for an N tractor is made somewhere overseas w/o adequate quality control, chances are very good that you will be disappointed. Any chance of getting your carb rebuilt in the UK?

If you end up buying a new one, be careful because there are a lot of re-pop clones out there, usually on eBay.

Try Just8N's or Dennis Carpenter, both in NC.

  • Greetings. You might find an original one on ebay that the seller will ship to you.
I once had a Hupp transmission that I sold to a fellow in England somewhere. Shipping for that 56 pound item was $200 through USPS and $400 through UPS, the brown guys.
The brown guys could get it there 1 day faster. It was double boxed and sent on it's way through brown. I originally did not list the item for sale internationally but upon the buyers request, did ship it to him. Good Luck with your search.
