  • Does anybody here have first hand knowledge of a set of the Note books selling? I am trying to find out what a fair price would be for a complete set in nice shape.
    Thanks, Doug

  • Not real sure the books you are asking about are the same as the ones the Barkleys (Just8N's) have. I think those are blueprints and maybe change order information. If so, i would think they'd be priceless.

  • Well I am not sure what just 8ns have but sounds like it. I have set #4 , 10 books in all, and they are large. The covers are embossed with Machine Analysis- Ford tractor Production 1939-1950 . There are blueprints , BOMs, all kinds of production info. Sometimes even what machines were used in production. These books were given to the lawyers for the law suit against Ferguson. Trying to figure out a fair price for both partys.

  • There were at least 12 sets of the original 9N Tractor Blueprints and all pertinent Engineering Information related made and used during the Ford-Ferguson lawsuit. The Henry Ford Museum had them all and back in the late 80's the curator and crew there decided that much of the archived artifacts, tractor items included, were obsolete and so they held an auction. If indeed you have one of these sets, I don't know what to tell you about value. I'd certainly love to own a set myself, but depending on price, may be out of my league. Back in 2006, I met Don Barkley and Harold Brock at the F/FCA show in Penfield, Illinois, and one day the three of us sat down and looked at Dons' set of 9N Blueprints. Mr. Brock was in awe as he hadn't seen them since 1948. I was in awe as well. Perhaps you can contact Don at Just8ns and ask him. He is now retired, the business is owned by his son Derek now, but Don still shows up at the shop a few days during the week. Put me on your list of potential buyers though. I am most interested in the machinery, suppliers, and detailed part drawings.

  • Tim I believe you are right about the total number originally but , and I have to find my original paper work, not all 12 sets were complete at the time of the sale. I also seem to remember Ford Motor and HFM keeping a set as well. You are right about the sale, not just tractor stuff, They thinned out a lot of the collections,Its not what it used to be in my opinion.

  • What kind of notebooks are you talking about? MPC's? Service Bulletins? We would like more info, pictures will help too.
