  • Freeze plug replacement
  • I was wondering how hard it is to replace a freeze plug on a 8n. It's the one behind the starter. It doesn't look like it would be difficult, but just wanted to ask the experts. Thanks for the help.

  • When installing the new plug, first put it into the freezer overnight - makes it much easier to to drive into the hole using a flat wood block (as the driver).

  • Should be able to drive a small screw driver in and work it out. I always put a thin layer of permatex 2 on the outer rim of the plug prior to driving it in.
