  • what is the size of the correct axle nut, the one i currently have is 1 13/16". i purchased a socket to remove it all well and good, but i'm going to replace the axles and the donor rear has the correct nut on it and its not 1 13/16".

  • Thread size or the Hex AF (across flats)dimension? I think the thread size is 1-1/4-18 and the hex across the flats is 2.0". Aftermarket parts today are notorious for having different hex sizes than the originals.

  • The original nut is 2" hex with the groove and holes for the retainer ring. I use a 3/4 drive 2" socket and my torque wrench is a 4' pipe on the 3/4 breaker bar and about 115 pounds of weight to get the 450 ft/pound (or pound ft) of torque. Being that I gained some weight over the years, I have to be more careful not to over torque. LOL
