  • Popping exhaust?
  • 50 8n,12v,makes a popping sound through exhaust. Not a steady pop but more like corn popping. I read an article about this not to long ago but can't find it now. Any info on this? Thank you, Rusty

  • Retarded ignition timing will contribute to exhaust popping at idle.

  • Perform a compression test.

If synchronous with engine speed, could be a burnt valve.

  • Two things come to mind are leaky/sticking valves or an air fuel mix issue with the carb. I am assuming you have verified proper ignition timing.
