  • 8N starter button
  • When I bought my 1951 8N, the previous owner had installed a key starter switch. I would like to convert it back to the starter button next to the gear shift lever.
Are there any wiring diagrams on this site that would help me to do this? The tractor has been converted to 12 volts and has a GM alternator as well.
Was the original key switch just an on/off switch?

  • You most like will need to replace the solenoid as well. the original push button switch just provides a ground for the wire that runs from the small terminal on the solenoid to the switch. a key switch type solenoid most likely needed power applied to it to operate. google 8n wiring by JMOR and chose the one for your tractor.
