  • When I raise the 3 point hitch with a grader blade attached, it raise just fine and holds. The bucket on the loader will raise about 4 feet and stops. If I get off of the tractor and push down on the blade the bucket will raise to full height. As soon as I quit pushing down on the blade the bucket lower back to 4 feet off the ground. If I push down on the bucket it will lower all the way to the ground and won't raise again unless I lower both the blade and the bucket. The loader uses the 3 point hydraulic system to operate the bucket. PTO works fine, oil level is full. Can anyone clue me in as to what is wrong.

  • When using the 3 pt hydraulics to operate the loader the lift arms need to be locked down to supply pressurized oil to the loader. The rear blade is providing enough resistance to raise the loader part way. When you press down on the blade it diverts more pressure to the loader. When you push down on the loader the pressure is diverted to the blade and once the blade reaches full height the valve goes to neutral and that is why it won't lift again until you lower the blade. When using the 3 pt hydraulics for the loader with the arms locked down you pull the handle up and raise the loader to the height you want then you have to push the handle back down some to put the valve in the neutral position.

  • Thanks for the info Mark. Do you have any suggestions as to how to lock down the lift arms. I have had this tractor for several years and only used the blade. Now I have some projects where I want to use the loader. When I was using the blade I just used the manual valve to shut off hydraulic fluid to the bucket cylinders. What it sounds like to me is that you either use the bucket or the blade but not both at the same time.

  • You are correct about only using one at a time. Some people just use a chain around the axle housing and over the top of the upper lift arm.

  • Hi Mark.I used cable to wrap around axle housing and over the top of the upper lift arms and it works just fine. Thank you for the suggestions. Lynn
