  • Got my tires. I started with the rear tires, got the tires off, rims are junk, rusted through on the inside. Where do I find new rims? Can you point me in the right direction? Can I put after market 6 hoop rims on it? Do they still make the original rims for my 1939 9N?

  • Theo-
I have a restored pair of original 9 x 28 Hat Rims. This is the correct size of the rim that used the 10 x 28 tire, now numbered 11.2 x 28, it's the same thing, they measured tires differently back then, inside not outside. My email is open if you are interested. Pictured are a set of 10 x 28 Hat Rims, restored, with 8N Center Discs mounted. I have a pair of 9N/2N center discs that will easily swap out if you need a set.

  • Yes, Theo, I said that. These rims I show have the 8N center discs attached. The outers are the Hat Rims. The centers are different because the 9N and 2N have different rear wheel hubs than the 8N and thus different center discs. I also said I have a pair of the 9N center discs I can swap out with teh8N ones shown no problem. The assembly as shown or if a 9N center is preferred, come with new, exact-as-original 5/8-18 Carriage bolts and the hex nuts too are exact 1-1/16" AF (Across Flats) all shown in pictures.

  • No one makes 32" rims anymore. So if you have original 32" rims take them to a welder and see if he can repair them. I have done that numerous times.

  • Most of the time the original hat rims can be repaired, but the loop rims will work just fine. The original hat rims are no longer made.
