  • 8-32 Rear Tires
  • Hi, I have a 1939 9N Ford with 8-32 rear tires and can not find that size. I was wondering if I can use 8.3-32 tires instead? Any info is much appreciated

  • If your old tires are Firestone with connected tread I would keep them to preserve them since they are the original. You can buy foreign 8.3x32 from I think Miller tire or 9.5x32 will fit on your rims.

  • Yes, Jason, as pointed out, 8 x 32 is the RIM size, the original TIRE size was 9 x 32 but they only make a 9.5 x 32 now and it will work fine. Here's a LINK to Miller Tire and one they offer. You must still have the original 32" hat rims as well, or possibly, the prior 6-Loop style rims used on the first early 9Ns. If they are/were loaded with calcium chloride, get rid of that stuff and have rims washed out good. Invest in new tubes as well. If you are striving for closer originality, Steve can help you with another supplier I believe.

  • Typically 9.5X32 are used on these today

  • Hi so do you think 9.5x32 tires will fit on the original 1939 rims?

  • Re: 8-32 Rear Tires
  • They fit on mine. They are standard-would be interesting to see what you have.
