  • Another Great Has Passed
  • Sadly, we lost another great Ford Tractor man this past week. Dwight Emstrom, one of a handful of men who began to restore early Ford 9Nís back in the late 80ís/early 90ís passed away on Wednesday at his home. He was 85. Among Dwight's massive collection of Ford Tractors was the earliest 9N on record. His serial number *9N-16* is featured in virtually every modern book published on Ford Tractors. If you ever met Dwight you know he was a gentleman farmer and a great man to talk to. He will be missed for sure. Rest In Peace, Dwight.

  • I can't remember which year it was Tim that I bought my first Ford N, perhaps it was in '05 or maybe '06, but whichever it was, I had been told by someone in the know that I might contact Mr. Emstrom regarding used parts for N's, so I called and talked to him on several occasions and ended up buying some needed parts for the tractor from Dwight - what a fine, easy speaking man he was. May he Rest In Peace!

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Dwight at several F/FCA shows and also got to meet him with John Smith 3 years ago at Dwights private museum. BTW, there are 4 9N's with cast aluminum hoods in that museum among some other fantastic machines.
I hope the family is not inundated with wolves calling or knocking on their door trying to pressure the family to sell everything.

  • Yes, I first met Dwight in 2006 at the F/FCA Penfield, IL show. He was a very nice man and we talked on and on about his early 9N. His s/n 16 shown in books has a few incorrect features and he laughed and said at the time, nobody was restoring old N's and very few really knew much about them. I bought a 4-spoke steering wheel from him and we had been making a deal for a small generator. I know he has been suffering with Dementia for the past several years and his memory had been slipping. A good guy...

  • Trying to remember when I was there I forgot to express my condolences to his family and that may he rest in peace.
