  • FORD 4000 -Correct Color?
  • Looking at this 1975 FORD 4000, looks to be restored. the BLUE looks fine, but not sure if he has the correct light color. It appears to be the 'buff' or yellowish shade. I looked at a '64 4000 a month ago and prices are about the same. I'd prefer the later model.

  • It's an SU.

Nice mowing tractor but I'd certainly put a bumper on it.

  • That's a nice tractor. Mine is a 74 3000 and it's blue. Not sure if it's correct but it looks like that color. Sun does weird things to colors at different angles. Those later year 1000 series tractors are nice. Lots of power but yet still maneuverable. Power steering help a lot also. The N's are amazing little tractors but the 1000's are a step up for sure. Nice mower to that guy has. To bad that's extra.

  • It must be the evening sun.
If you look at the one photo of the front end the color looks like it's the right shade of gray.
AFIK Ford didn't build a tractor with 30" rears and the Buff color.

  • The correct color was grey gloss. It looked white but was actually a very light grey. Most people selling paint for Ford tractors now call it light grey.

  • The Wimbledon White was correct for my 1971 3000.
I struggled with the blue, because most of the "Ford Blue" colors come out of the can looking much brighter than I thought it should be. I ended up mixing a blue that was too dark with a Ford Blue to get something that looked closer to right.
