  • I notice the choke knob got relocated to the dash. Original warhorse choke rod went to the front and through a little hole in the front of the right dogleg so the operator could fiddle with it while hand cranking the engine. With it on the dash you may need 2 people to start it, or do a lot of running back and forth, or have REEEAALY long arms!

  • the warhorse had a tsx 38 carburetor with a double throw choke lever on it.so you had a choke knob on the dash and one out the front.my right dog leg is drilled. just missing the rod and knob. will make a rod in the near future.

  • Chris, it looks like somebody had candle lanterns mounted to the dog legs at one point.. Maybe miners lamps... :-) :-)

  • I got a 8n with an industrial engine in it, it is a side mount block with a front mount distributor cover/drive housing with a Magneto. It does have starter.
I did convert to 12 volts because the 6 volt generator gave out. I Overhauled it in 2006 and have not touched the magneto since. Love the Magneto.
I got another magnetor to fit my 51 side mount 8n, going to get it mounted one of these days!!
