  • conversion kit
  • Just wondering if there is one 12v conversion kit better than another? Saw one with a 12v coil and one without the coil. One description says the coil is not needed, just didn't know which kit to purchase for my NAA.

  • I can't answer as I don't have any 12V switchover jobs, but based on the many posts on YTMAG, there seems to be a lot of issues with kits they sell. Bear in mind that YT doesn't manufacture ANY parts; they simply sell parts from the parts suppliers who contribute $$$ to sponsor them. Listen to Bruce(VA) and look at WIRING PICTOGRAMS BY JMOR for the correct help.

I'm curious as to where you got this myth and why you keep repeating it.
As I explained to you the last time you posted it I forwarded the comment to Miss Kim at YT and she said she had no idea where the notion came from. She said Yesterdays Tractors had never recieved any money from anyone - except customers - and that they have never had sponsers or recieved money from any.

  • I agree with the others, the just8ns kits are less likely to be a disappointment than searching for cheapest on ebay. Unfortunately, buying a conversion kit will not fill in all the blanks for the electrically challenged. If the kit is just for convenience, ok, but we probably wouldn't be comfortable going to a surgeon who needs an appendix removal kit with step-by-step instruction sheet.

Well, I hope he read the instructions the first time he did it.

  • Hope the first few times was on one of those practice dummies, and the instructions are better than what comes with most of those conversion kits.

  • I would go dollar to donut that you don't even need the instructions, good or bad. :)

  • I have a kit from Just 8ns, completely satisfied with it. A one wire alternator and everything needed for the conversion.

  • I got two 8ns with yt 1 wire kits, put 12 volt coil on one the other has a magneto so not needed, Very happy with both machines, no more charging problems and better starting to boot.

  • I have a 12 volt conversion kit from YT on a 9N. It is a one wire set up. Works great! And it was easy to install.
