  • Voltage regulator
  • I'm asking if you have to reflash a voltage regulator every time if you have a master battery kill switch installed, and switch it on? Thanks for any advise in this matter.

  • I master switched the neg side. My thinking was less arc when closing the switch and less power surge.

  • I would always switch the frame grounded side of the battery regardless of whether positive or negative ground. Switching the hot side still leaves a hot battery post if something were to short against it.

  • The generator is disconnected from the battery whenever the regulator cut out points are open

  • You are actually flashing the generator and the answer is no. Residual magnetism is retained in the generator windings even when it is totally disconnected from the battery.
