  • Maude is moving
  • Some of may have heard that I sold Maude my 1940 9N. The rumors are true she will be moving to her new home in the next few days. Good news is she will be staying in the N tractor club.

  • Well, Maude had an owner before you Dan, just move her down the line to do what she does......outlast us all! Glad she found another good home......although I do seem to remember the day her pants split in the rear very clearly. Lol.

  • Tim and I were just talking about that. Good times LOL.

It was already broken and patched by a previous owner. I tried welding it together but could not stop all the drips. Fixed that with an 8N center housing and a new swinging drawbar.

  • I bought a 960 w/a bad engine, replaced the engine w/a 192 industrial, & used it several years. It was hard working, reliable & reminded me of the 961 my dad bought new in '68. Last year I sold it as it was getting harder to climb on & off. Although the selling was hard, it ended up being a great story to tell as it went to Sweden!

  • I didn't have the 3000 for nearly as long, but I really enjoyed it while I had it. The fact that it needed work made it become even more part of the family. I really expected it to become my go-to machine, but once the engine was running right it proved to be more tractor than I felt comfortable with on our narrow wooded trails.
Watching it go down the driveway on someone else's trailer was sad.

  • I feel for you Dan.
It's hard to let stuff go.
This is a piece I wrote about 10 years ago when I let my old Insley go. I sometimes wish I still had it but it is better where it is.
Edit: for some reason I can't post a link.
    Here is the story.
Maybe someone can post a cluckable link for me.

  • Sorry to hear of Maude moving to a new home. Maude sure was cleaned up and improved under your ownership. You can take pride when handing her off to the new owner that you took good care of her during her time with you.

  • I feel your pain Dan, 9N3662 left me and went to Florida over a year ago and I still regret letting her go.
