  • 8n propane
  • I am going to look at a 1952 8N that runs on propane-has large tank mounted on front. How does one convert back to a gas burner? Thanks

  • Depends on how thorough the conversion was. Sometimes all that was done was add a LP tank and regulator, then drill and tap the air horn of the carburetor for a pipe fitting to connect the LP line from the regulator. If the LP tank is on the front, likely the original gas tank is still there. If all this holds true and all the stock parts are intact, then switching back to gas would be easy.

  • Don't throw the propane parts away when you remove. I'm pretty sure you might find some serious interest from N owners in Europe who are trying to repair/restore N's that found their way over there and are most propane models.

  • I believe you just need to replace the carburetor and change the timing.

  • That might help...
Carb, air cleaner, air tube might be d8fferent.
New hood if it was orig set up where tank goes through the hood.
If it was a conversion it may still have orig carb and hood.
    Send pictures. Good luck.
