  • 9n 1941 or 1944 ?
  • I have a 9n engine in my 1941 ford GP, the block number is a little hard to read...it is either 9n157xxx or 9n 57xxx the plate is a little pitted and cant tell if there is a 1 before the 57xxx is there any difference in a 1941 production engine and a 1944 ? would the numbers on top of the head tell anything or is that just a part number ?
    thank you

  • If it was a '44 engine it would have an engine date code just behind behind the starter otherwise basically same engine.

  • An actual GP? Awesome! Only about 50 left of the original 1500. My son has a 1942 GPW. He would drool over your GP (and then have to wash it). Sure would like to see some pictures. E-mail is open.
Sorry I cannot answer your question.

  • I would like to see a picture of that plate. The serial numbers on the 9N was stamped in the casting not on a plate. As to your question the engine was the same from 1939 thru 1947 in 1948 the serial number would start with 8N but the engine would still be the same.
