  • Ford 620 tractor question...
  • Anyone have any experience with this model? Does it have any hydraulics at all? What is one worth in new england? I was thinking about putting a loader on it....

  • The 600 Series has the 134 CID OHV Gas Engine; with LP and 144 diesel as options. The "2" defines the model as: "FOUR SPEED TRANSMISSION, NO PTO, NO 3-POINT LIFT". The 3rd digit designates: "0" as Hundred Series 1955-1957; and "1" as "01" Series, 1957-1962. No one can pinpoint a value on any tractor without seeing it up close and personal, but know too that the market value on antique tractors has declined over the past ten years or so as the interest has also declined. FORD 621 models were used as the basis for a later style of Moto-Tug. Like any vehicle, there are many deciding factors to consider when buying used.

  • Supposedly - officially? a 620 came without a pto or hydraulics.
However, as has been discussed over on the YT Ford board the 620/630s were kind of a catch all number for tractors that didn't have all the standard features. Like a tach for instance. Also, pto and or hyds could have been added over the years.
So I wouldn't assume anything about one and would at least inquire.
That said, I wouldn't have much use for a tractor that didn't have both hyds/3 point And pto.
Even if it was to be a dedicated loader tractor.

  • No PTO or hydraulics are indeed the standard configuration of the 620. However you could purchase either or both as optional items from the factory.

  • Thanks, I read that too. I wasn't sure. TOH, With your experience.... what would be the best pump to power a loader in that situation? I would have to add power steering too...

  • My experience does not extend to a tractor like this. My guess is the engine still has provision for mounting the OEM pump but the camshaft drive gear may not be present. Installing one would require some work. Hanging a crankshaft driven pump on the front is probably easier and you would not be limited to the rather low flow rate of an OEM style pump. Either way you would have to find and plumb a hydraulic sump. The OEM supply lines are not going to be present. All very doable but it would be a real "project".
