Re: Roll Pin Stuck in Drive Shaft
Bang the sides of the screwdriver to loosen it and get it out of there. It probably went past the end of the pin and wedged it in good. Wrong tool for the job. As Den said, Get a blunt point punch to drive the pin out once it is aligned with the holes on each side. If you don't have a punch drive another pin in there half way, then pull both out with vise grips and toss them in the trash. I couldn't see the sense in those pins having to be driven in and out, so I made some steel dowels that slip in and out easy. The grease zerk fittings in my overrunning couplers were always getting knocked off and throwing grease everywhere, so I made some flush plugs to replace those. If I need to add grease it's an extra step to remove a plug and install a zerk but that's better than having to clean grease off everything back there.
