  • The link works now the question.

    What are the two symmetrical notches at six and twelve o'clock in the picture? My concern is that the casting is broken off at those points and requires the entire flange to be replaced.

    Another question-how does one remove the inner and outer seals? Must the 4 bolts be pressed out by a machine shop to remove them?

  • The notches allow access to use a punch for removing the bearing race. You should be able to drive the bolts out fairly easy by putting a nut on them flush with the end of the bolt and tap them out with a hammer.
