  • Vapor lock
  • I was wondering if anyone has had an issue with vapor lock? My '54 NAA starts and runs good, but if has run for a good while and I shut it off and then try to start it again it does want to start. If I let it sit a while it starts just fine. Just courious if this problem presents itself for anyone else, and if does what is a good fix? Thanks for any info on this matter.

  • I had something similar on my 860. On it the fuel line runs down between the exhaust manifold and the engine block. My "fix" was to move the fuel line away from exhaust manifold.

  • It's pretty hard to vapor lock a gravity fuel system.

But, they will vacuum lock if the vent is clogged. Remove the cap and see if that helps.

Using ethanol gas? That will cause the same problem. If you are, add a half pint of kerosene to the tank.
