  • Ford Jubilee Spin on Oil Filter Conversion Kit
  • Purchased a kit, waiting for delivery.

Question: Is there an existing plate and nut that has to come off the block before installing the new plate and nut from the conversion kit? If so, what size is the nut and is it the same size as the existing nut? I need to know nut sizes so I have those sockets with me when I go to the farm to do this.

    Thanks,
    Tyler

  • Tyler,
Can't help you except in a general way. There is an adapter that has to come off first then you screw the new one in. Part #8
    It's a big honkin hex size. On a 3 cylinder it takes a 1 1/2" socket.

  • Thanks Jerry!

The size of the big hex nut in the conversion kit is 1-1/4". I have a socket for it. I'm hoping the old oil filter mounting nut is also 1-1/4".
