  • Have a question about the throttle on my '54 NAA. I don't know why with the throttle all the way open my tractor doesn't get past the twelve o'clock position on the proof meter. I would think it should for brush hogging. The proof meter has a line on it for the pto and the tractor won't come close to getting to the line. I have replaced the proof meter cable last winter. I'm puzzled about this and don't know if that is normal or not. Thanks for the help.

  • Re: Throttle
  • Your throttle open all the way at the carburetor should give you high rpm. The throttle on the dash should match the throttle on the carburetor. So what is the rpm at 12:00.

  • It's between 900 and 1200 rpms. Not sure if carb has to be adjusted or the govenor.
