  • 9n Battery hold down question
  • I have the three piece battery hold down for the tractor. Two flat pieces with a threaded stud on bottom along with the angle piece. I see how the parts fit together but have no idea how it attaches to the tractor. A photo of it mounted would help.

    Thanks,

    Tony

  • HiYa Tony-
Two battery hold downs were used, so see which one you have. The Dennis Carpenter Catalog photo may help picture. The early style had two 5/16-24 acorn nuts secured, threaded bolts near the lower front of dash where the hold down bolts attached to. This is the LH style in Carpenter's catalog. The March 15, 1940 MPC will also shed some light –see MANUALS/PARTS forum.

  • Hi Tim,

THanks. I have the production style. I was wondering what the two holes in the dash were for.

I worked on the wheel. Filled the cracks dressed them smooth and sprayed the wheel. Not as difficult as it sounds.
