  • New Shoes for the 2N
  • It was finally time to put new sticker front tires on the 2N and I already got em dirty. Can't say I noticed a remarkable difference in traction like those NASCAR guys do. Might have something to do with the slower speed.

The old tiress were cracked-up pretty bad. I bought new 19" tri-rib tires and tubes months ago knowing they needed to be replaced, but there wasn't any urgent need to change them. The old ones still had tread and were holding air just fine. Some other chore was always more important, until the tires actually started coming apart this weekend.

Looks like I got all the miles out of these. Hard to believe the tubes were fine and still holding air. Couldn't re-use the tubes though. They looked ok, but were probably the same age as the tires.

  • I would say you got all the use out those tires that they had! When you dont have to worry about a high speed blowout, you can get all the life out of them. Previous owner of my 641 had bought new front tires for it, over ten years later I'm still running the cracked old front tires. What do you have on your 8N, some type of auxiliary hydraulic pump?

  • Yep, That's a belt-driven pump that provides pressure thru the test port, so hydraulics work even when my foot is on the clutch or PTO is disengaged.
