  • Replacing PTO shaft NAA
  • Trying to replace the PTO shaft in my NAA with a new one. When I push it in to seat the last 1/4 inch it engages the lever and you canít disengage with the side lever. I have removed and reinstalled several times and removed the side plate. When comparing the shafts the length is identical but there are almost 1/2 inch more splines in length on the the internal part of the new shaft (3 inches versus 3.5 inches). Is there an adjustment or something? When I put the old shaft back in it engages and disengages as itís supposed to. Could the extra half inch of splines cause the problem?

  • Clark R,Check the splines on the new shaft and compare them with the old shaft.Measure splines with a micrometer, spline count and depth of the splines.Something is not right on your new shaft.
