  • I would like to find a set of rear weights for my NAA It would help during plowing especially the right rear, will pie weights work on my tractor?

  • I looked in the manuals section here but did not see a ballasting guide for an NAA.
    Ford did have that in the manuals for later models.
    The photo below is from a 600/800 manual.
    It says the heavy pie weights should not be used on a 600. I'm guessing that because of the splined hubs/axles the max rear ballast on an NAA would be less than a 600 and even a full light pie set would be a bit much.
    For what it's worth, I have the same tires as an NAA (12.4x28) on my 3000 and run 3 piece inner weights @ 225 lbs/wheel.
    I've found they give me much improved traction for plowing, snow moving, etc without the increased compaction of heavier weights when finish mowing.
    I have my eye on a set of one piece inner weights @ 300/wheel and if I can get them, will.
    My opinion is 300 lb weights would be just about ideal on a 12.4 tire for all purpose use.

  • Yes pie weights will work, Have a set on my NAA for pulling.Would suggest the lighter set. Either split half sets, donut style full or axle weights that fit on an 8n will also work on your tractor.
