  • Tire Chain Dimensions
  • The tire chain posts on the other board prompted me to pull out three sets of tire chains that I have no use for and plan to sell. I know what two sets fit but I have a third set bought used that I'm not sure about and cannot find any tire chain dimension chart on the net.

This is a Duo-Grip set and it measures 144" in length and 31" in width. I'm guessing 16.9X28 and/or 16.9X30.

    Anyone know?

  • Measure from center of sidewall across the axle to center of sidewall multiply by 5 and that will tell you how long chain should be. Measure center of sidewall across tread to center of sidewall and that will tell you how wide chain should be.

  • Couldn't do so anyway because I have the chains but not the tires.

  • Please explain multiply by 5. Where I went to school that would be PI (c = 3.14 x d).

  • I used to think Pie are square----then I realized, Pie are round---Corn bread are square. TOH is right, and if you have only the radius---- (3.14xrx2)
