  • Up for discussion. Need a Turbo for your N tractor? Well this company is making them. A wee bit pricey. No connection

  • I agree the turbo on a 9n,2n, or 8n is not cost effective when compared to the price you can buy a tractor.

Turbocharging is an ideal way to increase power without needing additional cylinders (aka Funk).

The low compression of the flatheads, and restrictive breathing of the design, make a turbo an ideal power booster.

It's amazing how an engine responds when air/fuel mixture is introduced above atmospheric pressure.

  • No thanks. For that price you can buy an N. Besides, a FORD N will pull an IHC, JD, or Kubota out of the mud without one. Gimmicks -gotta love 'em.

  • I don't need it. Yep can get 2 N's in my area for that price. Like I told TOH probably go the same way as the dual exhaust

  • Re: Turbo
  • Yep, the first thing I thought of too was the old DUAL EXHAUST marketed a few years ago for the N's that advertised would increase horsepower. I don't of anyone who actually bought one, do you? Wise men have more practical and better ways to spend their money on tractor parts.

  • Tim been a long time since Iíve been on here. I knew a guy had the exhaust. Think it only changed the sound. Lol. Plus it cracked. Saw it at one of the fair grounds.

  • Yea, I know some guy at the pull in NY has one on his 8n. He paid too much for it but he sez it helps. Maybe by heating air tube from both side might increase heated air.

  • Re: Turbo
  • I believe it was N-Complete who offered the dual exhaust, but most likely manufactured by someone else. I also seem to recall discussion on the board and it was explained in technical terms how and why that setup didn't do much if anything. The PR Barnum saying still woks.

  • Re: Turbo
  • The only possible improvement would be if it lessened the flow past the #4 exhaust port, thereby reducing the tendency to erode the manifold gasket/manifold/block in that area.

Of course, it is much cheaper and easier to just keep a close watch on that area and replace/resurface parts before they erode!
